In Diafanos, the entire world is deliberately rendered out of focus, linking my creative vision to Plato’s cave myth. As in his allegory, where prisoners see only blurred shadows, limiting their understanding of reality, my choice of a blurred visual space symbolizes the limits of perception and the distortion of reality. This philosophical framework inspires a narrative that challenges conventional perceptions, leading viewers to reflect on the nature of knowledge. The projection is based on immersing viewers in a world where human beings mirror the appearances captured in the video. By using the technique of blurring, similar to Gerhard Richter’s Volker Bradke, I aim to shape bodies and objects, creating a virtual reality in which forms and shadows are transformed.
